Zero Waste Products

Food Storage

My top picks for food storage products are:

  • ETEE Organic Reusable Beeswax Sandwich Bags – You can stop purchasing single use plastic baggies if you have a set of beeswax sandwich bags. I love the way these bags hold the sandwich together and they clean up and dry so easily.
  • Lunchskins Reusable Baggies – These can also be used for sandwiches but they are also great for small snacks like carrots or nuts or homemade banana bread!

Home Hygiene Products

  • Mason Jar Pump – If you are able to shop at a zero waste store where you can refill soaps and shampoo and anything else you would want to pump. OR you can at least minimize the waste of the plastic soap pumps by purchasing a large refill bottle (the pump part of the small soap pumps are not recyclable and need to go to the landfill).
  • Wide Mouth Mason Jars – I love using these to store nuts and seeds that I can purchase in bulk. Some stores allow me to bring the jars and fill the food at the store but for other stores I use a cloth bag to transport the food home and then put them into my wide mouth mason jars. I prefer the wide mouth because they are easier to clean, are a more efficient use of space and they freeze liquids like homemade broth easier.
  • Zero Waste Reusable Swab – these little guys are great. I have been using the same ear swab for months, it just needs a little wash before and after each use and it is good to go.
